At the red door in the revitalized 1830 Fowlds’ house on Front Street in The Village of Hastings’, The Doors Guest House is a self-contained suite with kitchen, bath, private entrance and garden access. Explore the Village of Hastings and surrounding area while relaxing in an international artist and traveler’s decor. Enjoy the Japanese Garden in back and the open park property with water access across the street. The guest house is child and pet-friendly.
Open May long weekend to Labour Day and by appointment in the off-season. Check in from 2 p.m. onwards. Check out at 11 a.m
The single Guest Suite features private front and back entrances, efficiency kitchen, with complete cooking facilities, private bathroom with circular shower, private door to the garden, BBQ, garden dining gazebo and parking.
There is a double bed next to a working wood stove and single day bed and a fold-out Sealy single couch in the living room area. Colour TV with VCR and DVD but purposely without cable. We have added secure wireless internet facilities. There is a small free library, movies and DVD’s. The suite accommodates up to four people. An additional double bed can be arranged in advance.
Open from May 18 until September 2 round. Rates in High Season from $99.00/night, $595/week. Rates based on double occupancy. Off season availability by appointment. Additional guest $15. Children under 6 are free. Pet friendly for a small additional charge ($10).
We are an eco-friendly smoke free facility with ceiling fans and opening windows, spring water and energy efficient lighting. Accommodations situated in the heart of the village next door to Jaings Chinese Restaurant and steps to the grocery and liquor stores. We have an ongoing affiliation with Kim Bright Wallace, Massage and Bodywork, Yoga Instructor, Life Style Coach and Nutritional Consultant by advanced appointment at The Doors Guest House. Inquire about our Textile Workshops for very small groups beginning the Fall of 2009.
